Alissa & John are Married!

When my good friend John from high school contacted me and wanted me to photograph his wedding I was so honored (and nervous of course!)  Alissa Bewyer and John Scapes were married on October 12th at the beautiful Evanston First United Methodist Church in the Tittle Chapel.  It was one of the most beautiful ornate churches I’ve seen in a long time.  Simply gorgeous!  I spent some time getting some shots of the two of them getting ready right at the church before they said their I Do’s.  I felt like I was in Europe and the ceremony was wonderful.  I especially loved the part where they wrote what they loved about each other and shared it with all the guests.  After they were officially married we had a great time on the grounds getting additional shots.  The architecture of the church was a great backdrop for some great images.  Then we headed over to the beach near their house in Evanston for some more fun!  The reception was held at the Copernicus Center.  It was such a great intimate venue.  The lighting and decor of the place was so unique and fun.  The band “Expo ’76” was amazing!  There’s nothing like a live band at a wedding.  Everyone had such a great time dancing and it was like being back in high school.  It was so great to see some of my high school friends and their families.  It’s been so long.  I want to thank John and Alissa for choosing me to photograph their amazing wedding day.  When you personally know the people getting married it makes it that much more special and I couldn’t be happier for the two of them!  I’m thrilled that John found such a wonderful woman to be his wife.  After spending time with them you can see that they truly love each other and have so much FUN together!  I wish them many years of happiness and love together!  Here are some of my favorites from the amazing day!!
