On July 27, 2013 Laura Gekas and Jon Feltman were married! Laura & Jon met each other on May 8, 2009 at Lamplighters. Laura was celebrating getting her Masters Degree and dragged a friend out that night to have a few beers. Little did she know she would be meeting her future husband! Right off the bat they felt so comfortable with each other and just clicked right away. After exchanging numbers they were on their way to being inseparable forever. Jon proposed to Laura on New Year’s Eve of 2012. It was just the two of them celebrating at a hotel and having fun. After having a few drinks in the bar they went back to their hotel room to freshen up before the nights festivities. When Laura came out of the hotel bathroom Jon was on bended knee asking Laura to be his wife. The song “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton was playing in the background (the first song they ever slow danced together). Jon was tearing up and Laura started crying immediately. She kept saying “Are you serious?” and finally said YES!!!!
Their wedding day was a blast!!! We started off at the houses for getting ready shots and the ceremony was at “Prince of Peace” in Palatine. After that we headed over to the Prairie Center for the Arts and got some amazing shots of the super fun bridal party and Laura & Jon. After that we ended up at Chandlers for some more shots of the bride & groom and their amazing reception. Everything looked beautiful and it was truly a celebration. I haven’t seen a reception party that fun in a while. Everyone was on the dance floor and just having the best time.
I want to thank Laura & Jon for choosing to have me photograph their gorgeous wedding day and to document their story!! They have a baby on the way and I’m so happy for them!
