On Jun 19th, 2010 Nadya Polanski & Chad Pace were married! It was another beautiful summer day. We started at the house taking getting ready and family shots. The grandmother gave Nadya her blessing and it was a touching moment. Then we were off to Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Church on Oakley Street. It was the most gorgeous church I have ever seen and I’ve seen a lot of churches!! A Byzantine style of 11th-13th century Ukraine. It was so colorful & intricate! The gold chandelier in the middle of the church looked like it was on fire! So breathtaking! The ceremony itself was filled with Ukrainian traditions including the Starosty, Ukrainain Embroidery, Icons & the Coronation Rite. We headed to Olive Park to take some bride & groom shots along with bridal party shots. The lake and skyline were gorgeous!!
There were more traditions during the reception as well. The Korovai (the wedding bread and heart & soul of the wedding reception) and the Hopak (traditional Ukranian dance that features a medley of leaps, spins & kicks) performed by the Hromovytsia Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Chicago! It was amazing!!
It was such a great day..so much beauty everywhere and the bride & groom were no exception. They were stunning and so sweet!! Congratulations Nadya & Chad! I wish you all the best in your marriage and life together. I look forward to seeing you again at your sister’s wedding next month!! Here are some of the highlights of the day!!
