Amanda & Paul met in March 2006 when she was a junior at U of I in Champaign. Paul was visiting his cousin at U of I and he happened to be at a party in her apartment complex. Amanda was coming home from work when she randomly ran into Paul and started talking to him. They talked for hours that night and a couple weeks later they went on their first real date. He surprised her by taking her to a Japanese restaurant and coffee afterward. They’ve been hanging out together ever since!
Five years after in February 2011 Paul took Amanda to Chicago for a surprise dinner to celebrate Valentine’s day and the completion of her Master’s degree. They went to the Art Institute first and they had time to kill before their dinner reservations so they walked around in Grant Park. Paul handed Amanda her graduation and Valentine’s cards when they were sitting in the park. Inside the Valentine’s card was a long love letter. She read it outloud and at the end of it Paul was down on one knee asking Amanda to marry him. Afterward they went to the Signature Room for dinner and drinks. It was such a wonderful and perfect day!
On June 23, 2012 they married each other at St. Isidore Church in Bloomingdale and had a wonderful reception at The Carlisle in Lombard. In between the ceremony & reception we headed over to Cantigney Park for some breathtaking shots! The day was perfect. My second shooter, Ernst Jacobsen, and I had such a wonderful time capturing this beautiful day.
